NEW PARTNERSHIP FOR KOREA AND UKRAINE IN A CHALLENGING WORLD

The International scientific and practical conference “New Partnership for Korea and Ukraine in Challenging World” was held on November 29, 2016, in Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ukraine.
Our countries have many areas of partnership, so diplomats, experts in international relations, and scientists have a lot of topics for discussion, exchange of experience. Ukraine should study the Korean experience of the development of the economy, armed forces revival, the construction of diplomatic relations, as well as combating corruption. Of particular importance to us is the experience of Korea in resolving international conflicts through diplomatic means.
The Korean delegation at the conference was fairly representative, it was headed by Minister of Ministry of Unification of Republic of Korea Ryoo Kihl-Jae; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine Lee Yang-Goo. There was also a large group of experts in international relations from leading Korean universities.
Ukraine was represented by the rector of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine V.G. Tsivatyy; MP of Ukraine, Head of the group on Interparliamentary Relations of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine S.M. Larin; Vice-Premier of Ukraine (2012-2014), Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (2003-2005, 2010-2012) K.I. Gryshchenko; a wide range of experts in international affairs. The conference was attended by representatives of the Department of International Cooperation of Igor Sikorsky KPI.
The conference was held during two sessions. At the session “State of security on the Korean peninsula and in Northeast Asia”, Korean guests were the lecturers. During the session “Ukrainian security challenges and ways to overcome them” Ukrainians were the lecturers.
