«Chornobyl’s Legacy for the Nuclear Safety of the World»
April 21-23, 2016


International Forum «Chornobyl’s Legacy for the Nuclear Safety of the World» will take place on April 21-23, 2016 in Kyiv, at the Center of Culture and Arts of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.

The secretariat of the Forum will be working on April 20-23, 2016 at NTUU “KPI” in room №157, build. №1.

At the Forum Secretariat participants can get:

  • information about Technical Tour to Chornobyl NPP with visit to Prypiat city on April 21, 2016;

  • information about Art Expo at Center of Culture and Arts;
  • information about Sightseeing Tours;
  • certification mission documents.

On the 22-nd of April, the registration of participants will take place at the Center of Culture and Arts lobby.


Student Service Teams (about 150 students) will work during the Forum. Team members will be in T-shirts with Logo “Chornobyl’s Legacy for the Nuclear Safety, April 22, 2016“.
Function of Student Service Teams is to assist the Forum participants with any questions (meeting-seeing, sightseeing and cultural programs, order of taxi, etc.).


International flights arrive to the International Airport “Boryspil”, which is situated about 30 km from the center of Kyiv.
There will be transfer of foreign participants from International airport “Boryspil” organized according to filled Application Forms which have been sent to Local Organizing Committee of the Forum.
To be meet at the airport one should give to the Local Organizing Committee of the Forum (Mrs. Alla Kovtun, tel.: +38 044 204-94-88; +38 093 244-05-93, a.kovtun@kpi.ua) an arrival information (date, time and flight number).
Local Organizing Committee will provide meeting of guests at the “Boryspil” airport, escorting of them to buses and transfer to Hotel.
Meeting point of Forum participants where their will be placed Forum banner “Chornobyl’s Legacy for the Nuclear Safety, April 22, 2016“, will work in the arrival zone of the “Boryspil” airport (Terminal D).
Participants will be met at the “Boryspil” airport on April 20 and 21, 2016.
Buses serving the Forum will have banners with the logo “Chornobyl’s Legacy for the Nuclear Safety, April 22, 2016“.
On April 23, the transfer of Forum participants from Kyiv to “Boryspil” airport will be organized.


Organizing Committee does not cover the costs of participants’ accommodation.

The delegates who need an entry visa should contact to the diplomatic and consular missions of Ukraine. For more information about Ukraine visa formalities one can found at http://mfa.gov.ua/en/consular-affairs/entering-ukraine/visa-requirements-for-foreigners.

On April 21, it will be organized a Technical Tour to the Chornobyl NPP with a visit to the Prypiat city and acquaintance with the work in progress at the Chornobyl NPP site.
Buses will depart on the 21st of April, 2016 at 08.00 AM from the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” at the Prospect Peremohy, 37, build. №1 (click on the NTUU “KPI” map). You must be sure to have a passport and a filled Dosimetric Control Form. The Ukrainian Dosimetric Control Form you can print from the site: http://chnpp.gov.ua/images/pdf/dosimetric_control.pdf and the English Dosimetric Control Form you can print a file with name “Dose Control Form.doc”.
Buses will have banners with the logo “Chornobyl’s Legacy for the Nuclear Safety, April 22, 2016“.
Travel time – from 8 to 10 hours.
It is desirable to have wet wipes and 0.5 liters of water.
During the trip to Chornobyl NPP it will be organized a lunch.
After returning to Kyiv participants will be transported by buses to their hotels.


The Forum languages are Ukrainian and English.
During the Forum simultaneous translation from / into English, Ukrainian and Russian will provided.


The presence of the doctor will be ensured during the visit to Chornobyl NPP and to Prypiat city on April 21, 2016 and on the day of plenary sessions on April 22, 2016.
In case of a patient hospitalization without medical insurance policy, paid medical services should personaly.


Permanent access to the Internet will be ensured by WiFi zones (except the trips to Chornobyl).


Kyiv has a continental humid climate. The weather in April is usually variable with daytime temperatures around 15° C. However, in the morning it can be cool. Often it is raining. You can see the weekly weather forecast in Kyiv on http://www.accuweather.com/uk/ua/kyiv/324505/april-weather/


Ukrainian currency is “Hryvnia” (UAH). Currency exchange centers can be found at the airport, at most hotels, banks and shops. The official exchange rate can be found on website: http://www.bank.gov.ua/EnqI/default.htm


Standard Ukraine Network uses electricity in 220V / 50Hz.


METRO (UNDERGROUND, SUBWAY). Metro is the cheapest and fastest kind of transport in Kyiv. All metro stations are clearly marked on the city map. You can also acquaint with the metro scheme directly at metro stations.
One trip at the metro costs 4 UAH. Near the metro entrance you must buy a special plastic disposable chip.
TROLLEYBUS, TRAM, BUS, MINIBUSE. The network of trolleybuses, trams, buses and minibuses is covering all city. One ticket for the trolley, tram or bus is 3 UAH. The fare by minibus is 4-5 UAH.
TAXI. Taxi fare depends on distance. Price per 1 km of a trip is about 5 UAH (the minimum price of taxi order is 35 UAH).
