Meeting with representatives of the city of Kobe

The representatives of Igor Sikorsky KPI, as well as the Ukraine-Japane Center met with representatives of Kobe City (Japan). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss aspects of cooperation development.

Mr. Deguchi – Director of International Department, Ms. Morimoto – International Department Officer and Levko Luchuk – International Department Officer were among the participants of this meeting. They introduced the prospects of further cooperation.

Kobe City is one of the most modern and developed cities in Japan. It is famous for its technological and scientific achievements, and therefore such cooperation will be extremely useful for our university. The city has the largest biomedical cluster in the whole state, containing more than 380 research institutions. The city also has an innovation center with the support of UNOPS, which promotes projects in areas important to the UN. Representatives expressed their interest in cooperation with foreign companies and institutions, as well as told about startup support programs and stimulation of entrepreneurial and innovative activities.

Representatives of the Department of International Cooperation on behalf of Igor Sikorsky KPI together with colleagues from the Ukraine-Japane Center represented foreign partners general university information, presented the Science Park “Kyivska Politechnika”, Sikorsky Challenge ecosystem and the Ukraine-Japane Center. Mr. Sergiy Sydorenko, Vice-Rector for International Relations of Igor Sikorsky KPI described the cooperation between Japan and the university, focusing on cooperation with Rigaku Corporation, Spring Aid project, as well as opportunities for exchange of experience and internships of representatives of Igor Sikorsky KPI in Japan.

In the end, the parties agreed to exchange additional information and outlined further actions.
