Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute became a member of the CESAER Association


On October 14, 2022, Dresden University of Technology held the 36th session of the General Assembly of CESAER* – Association of universities of science and technology in Europe.

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was represented at the meeting in the remote mode by Vice-Rector for International Relations Prof. Serhii Sydorenko, specialists of the International Collaboration Department Nadiia Konovalova, Volodymyr Sytin, and others.

One of the issues that were considered during the session was the approval of the admission of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” to the CESAER. Other agenda items concerned the annual reporting of the Association and the prospects of scientific and educational development of universities. In particular, the report from the European Commission stressed the importance of digital transformation and innovation.

In his speech, Prof. Sydorenko noted that joining the CESAER Alliance will involve Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in the European Research Area and will allow us to participate in implementing the educational and scientific policies of the Alliance member universities. 

Through cooperation within the Alliance, KPI plan to strengthen the joint project and grant activities, to receive assistance and support in finding partners, as well as to receive assistance in expert assessments of our project proposals.

Joining the family of the Alliance universities will also testify to the European orientation of KPI, and will promote the adaptation of the best European experience and practices in KPI.

The name of the association was formed as an abbreviation of “Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research”, today only the short form is used – CESAER.
