President Zelenskyy honours Kyiv Polytechnic academics with government awards
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute to present government awards for significant personal contributions to the development of national science, build-up of Ukraine’s scientific and technical potential under martial law, and for many years of conscientious work and professional excellence. The awards were conferred on the occasion of the Day of Science in Ukraine.
This year’s awardees include three Kyiv Polytechnic scientists.
The title of Honoured Scientist and Engineer of Ukraine was conferred on Yevhen Lukianchykov, professor at the Department of Information, Economic and Administrative Law.
The title of Honoured Educator of Ukraine was bestowed on Prof. Ivan Korobko, Director of the Institute of Aerospace Technologies, and Petro Krush, who served as professor at the Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship until 2024.
A government award was also presented to Artem Khalatov, long-serving head of the Kyiv Polytechnic’s Department of Physics of Energy Systems, and head of a scientific department at the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics within the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
In addition, research achievements by scientists from Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine were presented at the meeting.
“During wartime, our scientists have developed unique technologies and inventions that are now helping our warriors and medics — both at the front and in the rear — to protect and save lives,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on Facebook. “Among them are young specialists and experienced professionals. Different fields, different weapons, different systems. But all of them contribute equally to strengthening Ukraine… I am grateful to each of them for their important work, for their innovations, and for everything that ensures Ukraine’s strength and development.”
