Huawei Student Tech Challenge 2025 kicks off

The national competition Student Tech Challenge 2025, a major educational initiative bringing together young engineers from across Ukraine, has been officially launched at the Kyiv-based office of Huawei on 7 October. This year, the event is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Overall, 190 students, grouped into 46 teams from 20 leading technical Ukrainian universities, are participating in Huawei Student Tech Challenge 2025. They will compete in four categories:

  • Radio Access Network Planning
  • Datacom Engineering
  • Transport Network Engineering
  • Digital Energy

Students from Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Lutsk, Khmelnytskyi, Poltava, Odesa and other cities have joined the event, demonstrating the dynamic development of Ukrainian technical education even at this challenging time.

During the competition, participants tackle real-world technical cases under the guidance of Huawei experts, acquiring skills essential for future careers in ICT. The competition will also feature trials of proprietary radio-electronic solutions at a dedicated proving ground equipped with a 5G test zone.

The finals and an award ceremony are set for 14 November in Kyiv. Top finalists will be offered the opportunity to pursue internships at Huawei Ukraine as their first step forward in professional careers.

United, Ukrainian institutions, including the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and Huawei are fostering a generation of engineers who will contribute to shaping Ukraine’s digital future.
