Kyiv Polytechnic researchers complete Int’l Summer Engineering Programme in France

Yuliia Zloba and Yana Pliatsuk, PhD students at the Faculty of Automation, Industrial Engineering and Ecology of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, have successfully completed Part 2 – Water, City and Resilient Environment – of the SUstainable Resources Engineering (SURE) International Summer Programme 2026, held in Lyon, France.

The programme brought together young researchers from different countries to tackle one of today’s most pressing real-world challenges — sustainable water resource management and the development of resilient cities.

In the course of the programme, its participants:

  • explored the impacts of climate change and urbanisation on water resources and freshwater scarcity;
  • studied modern European approaches to stormwater management and the development of green-blue infrastructure;
  • dived into advanced technologies for water treatment and water reuse;
  • worked in international teams on real-world engineering case studies.

At the conclusion of the programme, the Kyiv Polytechnic students offered their own resulting technical and environmental solutions aimed at improving the water resilience of urban areas.

Congratulations to the young researchers of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute on successful completion of the programme, with best wishes for fruitful international projects in the future and new achievements in science.
