Lockheed Martin VP visits Kyiv Polytechnic

During his visit to the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Richard (Otter) Bew, Lockheed Martin Vice President and Chief of Staff, met with the university administration and the management of Fincord-Polytech Science Park LLC to discuss opportunities to develop joint projects, combining Ukraine’s engineering potential with the expertise of US industry, as well as to train highly skilled specialists to drive Ukraine’s innovative development.

This visit holds particular significance for Kyiv Polytechnic — a university with a long-established engineering and scientific tradition and extensive expertise in aerospace and other high-tech spheres.

The legacy of Igor Sikorsky — a Kyiv Polytechnic graduate, renowned aircraft designer and one of the pioneers in the global helicopter industry — attached special symbolic significance to the meeting. Today, Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company, continues to advance aircraft technologies while cherishing the engineering tradition he established.

For a university that has been shaping Ukraine’s engineering elite for over a century, such cooperation offers an opportunity to combine fundamental education and research with world-class practical expertise, come up with solutions that meet nation’s needs, and build up its technological potential.

It is worth noting too that Lockheed Martin is one of the world’s largest aerospace and defence companies, specialising in defence tech, solving complex challenges, advancing scientific discovery, and delivering innovative solutions.
