This facility enables the creation of full-scale models of upper and lower limbs, followed by the fabrication of prosthetic socket liners (adapters). The skills acquired by students are in great demand on the labour market, as these technologies and processes are the most widely used in Ukraine&#8217;s prosthetics centres today.<\/p><p>The hands-on training facility empowers students to benefit from the following specialisations:<\/p><ul><li>Biomedical Engineering, and Physical Therapy (rehabilitation), Occupational Therapy offered by the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering (FBME);<\/li><li>Applied Mechanics offered by the Institute of Mechanical Engineering \u2014 certificate programmes\/specialisations, including the bachelor&#8217;s programme in Engineering and Prosthetics Technologies, as well as the master\u2019s programmes in Medical Engineering Technologies in Prosthetics, and Additive Technologies in Prosthetics.<\/li><\/ul><p>In addition, the laboratory enables the development of skills in prosthetic rehabilitation, during which patients learn the basic techniques for using prostheses \u2013 a vital first step following their fitting.<\/p><p>With regard to the specialisation \u201cPhysical Therapy, Occupational Therapy,\u201d the FBME offers the bachelor&#8217;s programme in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and the master&#8217;s programme in Physical Therapy.<\/p><p>Together with the Training and Innovation Centre for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation and the Science Park of Additive Technologies, the laboratory is integral to the Kyiv Polytechnic\u2019s innovation ecosystem, which combines education, science, technology, medical engineering, and comprehensive support for war veterans.<\/p><p>After the launch of the lab, a panel discussion on the prospects for education, internships, and the employment of veterans studying for a master&#8217;s degree at Kyiv Polytechnic took place.<\/p><p>Importantly, plans are currently in place to build an inclusive space for veterans in one of the university\u2019s dormitories.<\/p><p>A grant funding programme designed for war veterans studying for a master&#8217;s degree, as well as the development of an inclusive education infrastructure are implemented at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, supported by Appflame, the Ukrainian product IT company, and the <em>Genesis for Ukraine<\/em> Foundation.<\/p><p><a
