{"id":32328,"date":"2026-07-16T22:38:48","date_gmt":"2026-07-16T19:38:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/icd.kpi.ua\/?p=32328"},"modified":"2026-07-17T20:09:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T17:09:12","slug":"kyiv-polytechnic-chemists-join-international-digigreen4water-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icd.kpi.ua\/?p=32328","title":{"rendered":"Kyiv Polytechnic chemists join international DigiGreen4Water project"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"32328\" class=\"elementor elementor-32328\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-604e996 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"604e996\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4148d8a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4148d8a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In early 2026, a teaching staff from the Department of Inorganic Substances, Water Treatment and General Chemical Technology at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, together with their partners, submitted an application to participate in the international project titled \u201cDigital and Green Solutions for Rebuilding Ukraine\u2019s Water Sector\u201d (DigiGreen4Water).<\/p><p>The project consortium also includes the \u00c5s-based Norwegian University of Life Sciences, the Ukrainian Water Association NGO WaterNet, and three Ukrainian universities \u2013 the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology based in the city of Dnipro, the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering in Rivne, and the Lviv Polytechnic National University.<\/p><p>According to the outcome of the selection process under the programme Nansen EDU \u2014 Norwegian-Ukrainian Cooperation in Higher Education, funded by the Norway\u2019s Directorate for Higher Education and Skills, DigiGreen4Water was chosen as one of the winning projects and awarded a grant.<\/p><p>Running until 2029, the project aims to restore, digitise and environmentally modernise Ukraine\u2019s water sector.<\/p><p>Core focus areas of the project include:<\/p><ul><li>Rebuilding of infrastructure \u2014 applying modern European standards in the reconstruction of water supply and sanitation systems damaged or destroyed in wartime;<\/li><li>Training of specialists \u2014 organising new micro-qualification programmes, international summer schools and internships in Norway;<\/li><li>Digitalisation \u2014 training students and specialists in the use of modern digital tools for water resource management.<\/li><\/ul><p>The major objective of the project is to strengthen Ukraine\u2019s long-term resilience by enhancing higher education and forming a sustainable partnership with Norway. The implementation of the project is intended to lay the foundations for the modernisation of long-term educational programmes whilst building up the HR and institutional capacity of the water sector.<\/p><p>Special attention will be paid to engaging internally displaced persons, demobilised military personnel, and representatives of local communities facing pressing challenges in water supply and sanitation.<\/p><p>DigiGreen4Water will also promote interaction between universities and the wider community.
