International Week of Deсember 6-10, 2021

Events during the week:

  1. The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine visited Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute On December 10, the newly appointed the Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine, Mr. Kuninori Matsuda, paid his first visit to Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. It was a meeting with Rector M. Zgurovsky at the Ukraine-Japan Center.The Ambassador showed excellent awareness of the organization of cooperation between the Ukraine-Japan Center and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with partners in Japan, in the activities of the Innovation Ecosystem “Sikorsky Challenge Ukraine” and said that his main task in Ukraine will be to promote economic relations between Japan and Ukraine through scientific, technical, and innovation cooperation in 5 areas: IT, space, medicine, pharmacology, agro-industrial complex, research, and production of electric vehicles (taking into account that Ukraine is a lithium producer and a developer of lithium technologies).The Ambassador considers it real to attract Japanese investors to the economic development of Ukraine in these 5 areas.   2. International relations of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with Turkey Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute met with the founder of the Foundation for Internationalization and Development of Higher Education in the Republic of Turkey and its representative office in Ukraine. The meeting took place on December 9. It was attended by a delegation of the Foundation for the Development and Internationalization of Turkish Higher Education in Ukraine (FIRVO), led by the Head of the Foundation, Mr. Giaseddin Haznevi. The parties agreed to cooperate in attracting students from Arab countries to study at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.The Foundation’s activities are to promote Ukrainian higher education in foreign countries and promote the internationalization of universities. At the moment, the parties are preparing a memorandum of cooperation. Details in the video.
  3. Egyptian delegation at Ye. O. Paton Educational and Scientific Institute of Material Science & Welding A meeting of scientists of Ye. O. Paton Educational and Scientific Institute of Material Science & Welding, headed by Acting Director, Ph.D. Yu. Sidorenko with a delegation from the Ministry of Defense of the Arab Republic of Egypt led by General Magdi Mohammed and a delegation from the Egyptian Black Sand Company led by the Chairman of the Board General Mohtar Abdelatif.The guests were acquainted with the capabilities of scientists from Ye. O. Paton Educational and Scientific Institute of Material Science & Welding to carry out research and projects to establish in Egypt a variety of productions related to titanium – using Ukrainian technology. From the Department of Physical Materials Science and Heat Treatment in the meeting was attended by the acting Head of the department prof. M. Karpets and prof. S. Sydorenko.
  4. The internship of students of the China Ship Scientific Research Center (PRC) at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Representatives of Center for International Education Ostap Oliynyk and Yuriy Kushnaryov presented our university at a powerful international online seminar on “International Fellowships/Masters/Ph.D. opportunities for Indian Students & Teachers”, which was organized and successfully conducted by a partner of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute – Institute of Entrepreneurship Management and Engineering VISHWANIKETAN (Republic of India). Our university took a place among technical universities in the USA, Great Britain, Bulgaria, Greece, Poland and Denmark. The event was also attended by a second-year graduate student of the Faculty of Thermal Power Engineering, Kishor Mane from India, who made a report on his choice in favour of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute about his experience, prospects and expectations. About 200 participants joined the event.
