Kyiv Polytechnic shines among Ukraine’s top institutions in THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings

Times Higher Education unveiled the inaugural Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025 on November 21, 2024. In this THE’s biggest-ever debut ranking – 749 universities from 92 countries and territories are included – the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was ranked in the prestigious 401-500 band.

The highest positions in the ranking have traditionally been taken by universities like the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, and the National University of Singapore. Yet, for Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute to be ranked alongside these global academic powerhouses is strong evidence of its excellence in interdisciplinary science research.

Of 26 Ukrainian universities that submitted data for the ranking, only 11 were ranked. Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, along with the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, was among the top ranked universities, taking second place nationwide. This result indicates firm interactions across disciplines initiated at Kyiv Polytechnic owing to the effective interdisciplinary scientific work, and strategic development.

By comparison, the ranking included universities from all continents, and only the strongest were able to get places in the top 500. Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has an overall score of 30.0-34.7 out of 100, which demonstrates that the university is keenly competing at the international level.
