Kyiv Polytechnic students explore capabilities of innovative renewable energy technologies
Luis Casla, an innovative engineer from Madrid and inventor of the XIZAN My Solar Plant, continues his work at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the Sikorsky Challenge Innovation Holding Company. His activities focus on the development and application of the cutting-edge solar energy technologies.
On 7 March 2025, Luis Casla dedicated his time to mentoring students from the Kyiv Polytechnic’s Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management, sharing not only technical insights into his unique solar technology but also his experience in creating and commercialising innovative solutions. He detailed the development stages of the XIZAN My Solar Plant project, the challenges he faced on the path to success, and how he succeeded in developing a concept into a state-of-the-art commercial product.
The students had the opportunity to ask questions, take valuable advice, and engage in discussions about the development prospects of renewable energy. Luis Casla emphasised the importance of innovative thinking, an interdisciplinary approach, and eagerness to experiment.
His speech proved to be a true source of inspiration for budding engineers and entrepreneurs striving to find efficient, environmentally-friendly energy solutions. Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Sikorsky Challenge continue to proactively cooperate with international experts, providing students with access to best practices and the latest technologies.
It is worth noting that XIZAN Energy is a startup founded by Luis Casla in December 2017 with the aim of creating high added value solutions for private electrical installations to enhance energy efficiency and encourage the integration of renewable energy sources.
