Kyiv Polytechnic improves its performance in 2026 THE Sustainability Impact Ratings

The Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings (previously THE Impact Rankings) 2026 has evaluated 1,646 universities from 116 countries and territories across 17 individual SDG tables and one overall ranking, showcasing how institutions are working towards addressing the 17 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

The Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute improved its performance significantly, moving up from the band 1001–1500 last year to band 801-1000 in the overall rank. It submitted all the goals, and improved its global ranking in 13 of the 17 SDGs.

The university performs particularly strongly for SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production) – Research on responsible consumption and approach to the sustainable use of resources, SDG 14 (life below water) – Research on life below water and education on and support for aquatic ecosystems, and SDG 15 (life on land) – Research on life on land and education on and support for land ecosystems, standing within the 301–400 range globally. Also, Kyiv Polytechnic features prominently five times in the 401–600 band for SDG 2 (zero hunger), SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy), SDG 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure), SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities), and SDG 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions).

Among 55 Ukrainian universities, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute came second for SDG 12, and third for SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation), SDG 7, SDG 9, SDG 14 and SDG15.
