National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” is the largest Ukrainian university and one of the largest technical universities in Europe. The university has been operating and developing since 1898 as a single campus in the center of the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. It offers organically integrated conditions for study, recreation, sports, and personal hobbies for the entire student and academic community across an area of more than one hundred hectares. Among the teaching staff of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute are more than 500 professors and over 1,300 associate professors.
Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is a national autonomous public institution of higher education of research type and has the right to carry out educational activities aimed at training bachelors, masters, doctors of philosophy, and doctors of science, including for other countries. During its existence, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has trained more than 370 thousand specialists, many of whom were international students.
The international activities of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the establishment of cooperation with foreign partners are carried out in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine. In particular, based on the Laws of Ukraine:

and other components of the legislative framework of Ukraine in the field of international activity, the Charter of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and the university’s internal regulations.
Ukrainian scientists, innovators, teachers, and students actively participate in technical and innovative cooperation with foreign partners.
According to the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Development Strategy for 2022–2025, and in order to achieve equal opportunities for women and men as a strategic goal, the university is implementing an Action Plan on the Implementation of Gender Equality Principles in the practice of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.
The issue of gender equality at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is regulated by Order No. NU/2018/2021 dated October 18, 2021.
Since January 2024, the university has been implementing the “Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence for Academic Activities at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, approved by the Academic Council on December 11, 2023 (Minutes No. 11).
Successful cooperation with representatives of 47 countries and international organizations is possible thanks to the Policy of Open Science of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the active participation of the entire staff and students in international educational and scientific projects and programs. The university includes 32 joint structures with university partners, leading international organizations, including the EC, CU, UNDP, UNESCO, UNIDO, WIPO, NATO, EDNES, ICSU, CODATA, and well-known companies such as HUAWEI, MOTOROLA, SIEMENS, FESTO, SAMSUNG, and INTEL. The university also initiated the creation of the “Center of Supercomputer Calculations and Data” in Ukraine.

The university has more than two dozen educational institutes and faculties, several research institutes, and scientific centers, including development and engineering centers, which carry out large-scale international cooperation. Joint activities at all levels and across all divisions — from departments to university units, from the Student Council to the Academic Council — make it possible to realize the university’s role as an active driver of the international development of education and science.
The International Collaboration Department, as the coordinating center for the university’s international activities, relies on the work of joint international structures, centers, laboratories, and specialized advisory and working commissions operating on a voluntary basis.
Rankings and Recognition
International and national rankings demonstrate the university’s achievements in education and science. Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is ranked among the top 4% of universities in the world according to QS and Webometrics. It annually holds leading positions in Ukrainian higher education rankings such as “Compass” and “TOP-200 Ukraine”. It has also been recognized by Google as one of the most popular higher education institutions in Ukraine on the Internet in recent years.
