Kyiv Polytechnic Rector ranks fifth on 100 Most Influential Ukrainians List
Anatolii Melnychenko, Rector of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, ranks fifth on the list of the “100 Most Influential Ukrainians of 2026” in the new category of Education & Science, introduced by Ukraine’s Focus magazine this year.
Throughout 2026, Rector Melnychenko and the Kyiv Polytechnic team concentrated their efforts on key areas of development of this leading technical university:
- training professionals needed by the Ukrainian economy, while developing dual education and collaboration with industry;
- forming international partnerships, participating in Horizon Europe – the EU’s flagship research and innovation programme – and proactively engaging with alliances of European universities;
- promoting engineering, science and mathematics education;
- strengthening energy sustainability;
- fostering the university’s scientific and technological achievements of national importance.
Behind this outcome lies a much broader context: engineering education, science and innovations as powerful drivers of Ukraine’s development.
