Czech government delegation visits Kyiv Polytechnic to discuss joint biomedical engineering projects

A high-level delegation from the Czech Republic, led by Vlastimil Válek, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health, visited the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute to explore future joint projects in the field of biomedical engineering.

The discussions centred round the following key areas:

  • Establishment of rehabilitation centres;
  • Implementation of digital technologies to improve the quality of medical services;
  • Biosecurity and biosafety programmes.

The university is prepared to undertake these vital initiatives for Ukraine, drawing on its strong engineering developments and existent infrastructure, including the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering and science parks.

Cooperation between Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the Czech Republic has long been in good progress, marked by partnerships with seven universities and successful joint educational and research projects.

Going forward, the cooperation will expand to include the establishment of modern medical centres specialising in prosthetics and rehabilitation, as well as academic mobility through several programmes to support the exchange of students and teaching staff between the Kyiv Polytechnic and leading Czech universities.
