Kyiv Polytechnic experts participate in inaugural meeting dedicated to energy efficiency project
The inaugural meeting of participants in the educational and practical project “Energy Efficiency: From Idea to Action,” which is carried out with the support of the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine in partnership with the Danish Energy Agency under the Ukraine-Denmark Energy Partnership Programme (UDEPP) has marked a new phase of joint activities in the field of energy efficiency.
The team of experts represented the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute at the meeting. It included Associate Professor Olena Borychenko, Head of the Power Supply Department (PSD) at the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management; Associate Prof. Anatolii Cherniavskyi, Director of the Energy Managers Training Centre; as well as PSD students Dmytro Lenkov, Dmytro Pysarenko, Kateryna Kononenko, Ivan Kot and Kyrylo Cherniavskyi.
A substantive discussion with Aliona Shkrum, First Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, took place during the meeting. Her vision of the role of young people in driving change, her openness to innovative approaches, and her support for new initiatives provided a powerful incentive to further work.
Participation in the project followed a selection process among the best student initiatives submitted to a nationwide competition aimed at developing the concept of a publicity campaign for energy efficiency in higher education institutions. Developed solutions will form a basis for further practical implementation.
What lies ahead is a period of intensive activity, the accumulation of new knowledge, the elaboration of practical cases, and the involvement of international expertise. All these efforts together will contribute to embedding effective changes in the field of energy efficiency at universities.
