New OPEN courses for English teachers offered by the US Embassy

The Regional English Section at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv is now accepting applications from Ukrainian English teachers to participate in the Online Professional English Network (OPEN) programme in the spring semester of 2024.

The OPEN programme offers eleven 8-week professional development courses created by U.S. universities on the following topics:

  • Teaching for the Future: English Teaching to Take on Climate Change (TFF)
  • English for Media Literacy as a 21st Century Skill (EML)
  • Creating and Implementing Online Courses (CIOC)
  • Developing and Teaching Academic Writing (DATAW)
  • Fostering Student Motivation and Engagement (FSME)
  • Integrating Critical Thinking Skills into the Exploration of Culture in an EFL Setting (ICT)
  • Professional Development for Teacher Trainers (PDTT)
  • Teaching English to Young Learners (TEYL)
  • Teaching Grammar Communicatively (TGC)
  • TESOL Methodology (TM)
  • Using Educational Technology in the English Language Classroom (ET)

The U.S. Department of State will issue certificates and digital badges to all those who complete the course.
