JETRO delegation visits Kyiv Polytechnic to discuss promising areas of cooperation
The delegation from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) has recently paid an important visit to the Ukraine-Japan Center at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. JETRO, a governmental organization under Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, enthusiastically supports various institutions in Ukraine, including Kyiv Polytechnic.
“We are confident that our experience will contribute to the country’s reconstruction and the recovery of its people,” said Ryo Koba, Senior Director for Global Strategy Europe and Head of the Business Department at JETRO Ukraine. “That is why we are actively engaging international businesses in general and Japanese enterprises in particular to work in Ukraine. We are also seeking out promising startups – and you have a plethora of them – to generate Japanese investors’ interest in their implementation. Your Ukraine-Japan Center may well become a hub for such initiatives.”
The meeting provided a platform for exchanging ideas and discussing promising areas of cooperation, including:
- Financial, consulting and partnership support for innovations, as well as the promotion of startups, particularly those within Kyiv Polytechnic’s Sikorsky Challenge Innovation Ecosystem;
- Strengthening cultural, linguistic, and business ties between the two institutions;
- Working to restore human capital by adopting Japanese experience and best practices; and
- Organizing educational events and lectures for students.
This visit marks a meaningful step toward fostering deeper collaboration, strengthening ties between Ukraine and Japan in education, innovation, and business.
