Addex Community helps war veterans with rehabilitation, prosthetics
More and more staff at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute are showing empathy and commitment to supporting war veterans, who have suffered from armed aggression, aiding them in rehabilitation and prosthetics.
Some 70 Kyiv Polytechnic students from various specializations attended the presentation of the university’s Addex Community group, which actively advances additive technologies in medicine, particularly prosthetics and orthotics.
During the presentation, the attendees gained insight into the concept, goals, capabilities, and curriculum of the Addex Community.
Opportunities provided by the community:
- Becoming part of the community of real professionals, collaborating with the Science Park of Additive Technologies, the Kolo charitable foundation, and the EPAM global software engineering services company;
- Honing skills in 3D modeling, scanning, and printing;
- Operating advanced equipment and applying cutting-edge technologies;
- Learning biomedical and additive technologies from leading experts at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering (FBME) and the Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IME), regardless of the level of training.
The group was formed and operates at the Training and Innovation Center for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation, supported by the IME and the FBME.
