Quarterly Meeting for Alliance of Guangzhou International Sister-City Universities (GISU) Member Coordinators

Quarterly Meeting for Alliance of Guangzhou International Sister-City Universities (GISU) Member Coordinators took place on February 16, 2022. The event was held online via ZOOM platform.

The following 14 members were in attendance: Guangzhou University, Guangzhou Medical University, Linköping University, Middle East Technical University, Tampere University, University of Coimbra, University of Quebec at Montreal, University of Padova, University of the West of England, Western Sydney University, National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Belarusian State University of Physical Culture, University of Zaragoza and the Polytechnic University of Valencia

Other guests also included presenters and competition judging panel members.

The issues discussed by the participants included the following:

  • Micro-Credential Program
  • Internet Information Platform and Message Board 
  • Urban Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition 
  • Smart Cities/Tourism and Other International Symposiums
  • Digital and Entrepreneurship Academy
  • Joint Research and Publication Projects 
  • Encouraging Further Development of Relationships Between the Allience Members 
  • Other Business

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was represented by Dr. Andrii Shysholin, Head of the Foreign Economic Activity Office, his colleagues, Mr. Oleksii Strutsinsky, a director of Innovation Ecosystem «Sikorsky Challenge» and Dr. Olesya Lyushenko, a senior teacher at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics.

Dr. Shysholin and colleagues shared information on the structure of the platform which includes several sites to include a Main site, Digital and Entrepreneurship site, Project site, Administrative site, Event site and Organization site. 

Cooperation within the Alliance of Guangzhou International Sister-City Universities allowed representatives Igor Sikorsky KPI to take part in a study on “Culture-based creative tourism: Fostering tourism and cultural synergies for localized, strategic approaches to revitalization.”

Moreover, the Alliance GISU is pleased to offer 16 two-hour online non-credit professional development programs in 2022 through its Digital and Entrepreneurship Academy. These Academy programs are offered free of charge for the students and faculty of Alliance members, industry representatives, local officials, and alumni of each university.
