17.10.2025/
This evening performance was inspired by gratitude, resilience and music. The Centre for Culture and Arts at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute staged a charity concert by Japanese piano virtuoso Tempei Nakamura, a musician visiting Ukraine and the university for the third time during the war.
His performance became a manifestation of Japan’s friendly feelings and sincere support for Ukraine, as well as proof of the power of growing intercultural unity. Tempei Nakamura performed his own moving interpretations of the famous Ukrainian compositions “Nich Yaka Misyachna/What a Moonlit Night” and “Shchedryk” known in English as the Carol of Bells. In addition, he dedicated the piece “Soldier’s Story” to the heroic defenders of Ukraine. The concert concluded with the Ukrainian national anthem, as the whole hall just went up into applause.
The event was organised and supported by the Kyiv Polytechnic’s Ukraine-Japan Centre. All donations collected during the concert will be funneled into the Charitable Foundation for Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to help Kyiv Polytechnic students and staff currently defending this country on the front lines.
