Donation to the KPI Support Foundation
Dear Colleagues,
Allow us to express our gratitude for the support offered to the staff of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI), warm words, intense desire to support students and faculty of the University by raising funds and providing humanitarian aid.
Russia’s war against Ukraine has continued since February 24, 2022. Tragedies struck the lives of our colleagues – teachers who lost their relatives and whose houses and apartments were bombed. They have been temporarily accommodated on the university campus.
At present, more than 1,000 students and staff live at the university.
The Special Response Staff, which provides security and support for vital activities of the University, was established. The KPI Rector is in Kyiv, administering the Special Response Staff.
The Special Response Staff concentrates its efforts on solving the following problems: ensuring vital activities and safety at the University, creating safe conditions for people in KPI bomb shelters, supplying medicines and food, solving other everyday problems; the operation of a catering center for faculty and students sheltering in the University, as well as for the student volunteers who ensure vital activities and safety at KPI.
The KPI student volunteers, who have been recruited for Ukrainian Territorial Defense Force, stand guard at checkpoints on a perimeter of the University, neutralizing sabotage and terrorist groups on the university campus, participating in the construction of defensive installations, as well as rendering other assistance to the municipal territorial defense force.
The KPI Support Foundation has been established and is in operation today. Owing to its funds and the active participation of volunteer organizations, fuels and lubricants are purchased for the transportation facilities of university guard units, medicines and food that are distributed to the coordinators of bomb shelters in the required volumes and for the purposes intended. Social and mental health support is offered to people in shelters.
The KPI Support Foundation has opened a multi-currency account to which financial aid can be transferred in various currencies. Please specify “Charitable Aid” in the payment details.
