Events of the week:

1. Huawei Academy KPI is in the status of the best in 2021

   On November 30, 2021, the delegation of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute took part in the annual event HUAWEI ICT DAY 2021, which was held at Parkovy Convention and Exhibition Center. The HUAWEI ITC DAY conference is dedicated to information and communication technologies. It was conducted with the participation of leading industry analysts, customers and partners in order to reveal professional insights about the industry and get acquainted with the latest Huawei products and solutions. On behalf of our university, the conference was joined by the Vice-Rector for Education Natalia Seminska and representatives of Faculty of Radio Engineering and Institute of Telecommunication Systems. 2. Development of partnership and cooperation between Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the Ministry of Reintegration

   On December 2, 2021, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk paid a visit to Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The meeting began with an acquaintance with the KPI Situation Center. Researchers suggested ways to help the ministry solve challenging problems. 3. Meeting with the delegation of Information Security, Kobe, Japan

   On December 3, 2021, a delegation from the Japanese company Information Security visited the university to discuss cooperation in the field of cybersecurity and invited KPI students for an internship. Information Security is one of the leading companies in Japan in the field of cybersecurity, railway and road safety, protection of risks of toxic gas environments, oil and gas production. The Japanese side is interested in conducting joint research with the university, so it invites students. In the future, it is planned to establish clear methods and principles of cooperation. More…

4. Visit of Egyptian Black Sand Company and representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Arab Republic of Egypt

   On December 4, a delegation from the Egyptian Ministry of Defense led by General Mahdi Maxamed and a delegation from the Egyptian Black Sand Company led by General Mohtar Abdelatif, Chairman of the Board, visited the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The guests were interested in cooperation in the field of titanium production. The parties agreed to hold a number of meetings with scientists and Ukrainian titanium producers. More…

5. The beginning of new cooperation in the Czech direction

   Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is cooperating with the University of Western Bohemia (Czech Republic) in the field of advanced laser technology. The directions are 3D printing, laser post-processing of 3D-printed products, texturing of metal surfaces with a femtosecond laser, hardening/cutting/welding by high-power robotic laser systems.

   Dmytro Lesyk, Associate Professor of the Department of Laser Engineering and Physical and Technical Technologies, will pay a visit to the partner university, where the first experiments planned by the Ukrainian-Czech research project for 2021 have already been conducted.
