MSCA Doctoral Networks – Postgraduate Training Networks

The purpose of the competition: to increase the level of professional training of PhD graduates who have creative, entrepreneurial, innovative and sustainable solutions, capable of adapting to current circumstances, as well as turn knowledge and ideas into products and services that promote economic and social development

The competition aims to achieve the following goals:

For scholarship holders:

opportunities to conduct modern research and acquire new skills that will expand career opportunities;
transformation of ideas into products and services;
expanding opportunities for interaction and communication with foreign colleagues.

For participating organizations:

improving the quality and relevance of graduate training programs;
expanding cooperation and knowledge transfer between sectors;
strengthening the integration of teaching and research activities;
development of research and innovation potential;
strengthening internationalization processes.

Who can take part in the competition?

  • The competition is open to researchers who obtain a PhD degree. The application is submitted by a consortium of at least 3 independent legal entities (universities, research institutions and infrastructures, business representatives, including SMEs and other socio-economic actors) registered in different EU Member States or Associated Countries. (at least 1 beneficiary must be from an EU Member State). An important condition is that at least one of the institutions must have the right to award a PhD degree.

How to take part in the competition? – Applications for participation in the competition are accepted exclusively electronically, through the portal of the European Commission Funding & Tender Opportunities (link to the competition page). The application is submitted by the organization-coordinator of the consortium. The application consists of two parts:

Part A, administrative – is filled in online and contains information about the members of the consortium, the general budget of the project and issues related to the topic of the project;
Part B, which is technical, contains a technical description of the project. After logging in to the portal, a template (a sample template can be downloaded at the link) of this form can be downloaded from the competition page, after which it will need to be filled out and placed on the portal in PDF format. The total volume of this part should not exceed 30 pages.
