2nd Anniversary of Cooperation between Ukrainian and UK Universities within TWINNING

Two years ago, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute joined the TWINNING initiative from Cormack Consultancy Group. This was an important step in the development of education and science in Ukraine, opening up new horizons for higher education students and researchers.

For Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, it was an opportunity to cooperate with the University of Sheffield, a leading educational and research institution in the UK, to exchange experience and implement modern approaches in the educational process.

During this period, significant results were achieved. The University of Sheffield donated £20,000 to restore a bomb shelter so that students and faculty of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute could continue their studies. They also provided access to online libraries and organized an English language course for academic staff.

It is also worth mentioning the joint project of the University of Sheffield, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and the Sikorsky Challenge Ukraine innovation ecosystem in the post-war innovation transformation of Ukraine, funded by the UK Government’s “UK-Ukraine Research and Innovation twinning grants scheme.”

It is important to note the enormous contribution of our British colleagues to this process. They not only provided valuable support and advice but also helped to introduce new teaching methods and research organization. Thanks to their experience and expert approach, the cooperation has become effective and efficient.

Currently, KPI and the University of Sheffield are developing a long-term cooperation plan for the coming years, which will become the basis for future educational and scientific cooperation projects not only between universities but also between countries.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our British colleagues for their support, professionalism, and joint efforts in the development of education and science. This cooperation is a vivid example of how collective efforts can lead to significant achievements and contribute to the development of education at the international level.
