The recruitment of participants for exchange programs for Ukrainian educators “BridgeUSA”
American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS announced a call for applications for the “BridgeUSA: Ukrainian Faculty Exchange Program” aimed at supporting Ukrainian universities in training professionals critical to the country’s recovery and development through close cooperation with U.S. higher education institutions. The project is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, with additional funding from host universities.
The program includes:
- Internships at US universities for one month.
- Collaboration with colleagues and mentors from American universities.
- Developing new courses and conducting joint research.
Who can apply?
Teachers of the following academic fields:
– Agricultural technology
– Conflict resolution and peace studies
– engineering
– Information technology (including the use of technology to combat
disinformation)
– Mental health
– Pedagogy (including teaching and research in medicine/dentistry,
focused on wartime issues and needs)
– Urban planning (including architecture)
BridgeUSA UPRR, in addition to the above academic fields, will also accept
applications from scholars specializing in:
– Environmental policy and management (including post-war environmental restoration; alternative energy and sustainable development; emergency management technologies)
– health care and medicine during the war (including prosthetics, rehabilitation, PTSD treatment and mental health, biomechanics).
Candidates are eligible to apply for the program if they are
– are citizens of Ukraine and reside in Ukraine at the time of application;
– are full-time teachers or researchers with at least two years of experience at a university;
– be fluent in spoken and written English;
– demonstrate a desire to return to Ukraine after the end of the visit;
– are eligible to receive a J-1 non-immigrant visa for participants of exchange programs with the United States.
