Visit of the delegation of the Republic of Iraq

On September 30, 2022, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was visited by the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Ukraine, headed by the Charge d’Affaires, Minister Plenipotentiary Dr. Abbas Hussein.

The guests traditionally got acquainted with the infrastructure of our university, visited the State Polytechnic Museum of Ukraine at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and examined the exposition of the Department of Aviation and Astronautics of the museum.

Then the Iraqi delegation met with representatives of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for International Relations Prof. Serhii Sydorenko, Head of the Foreign Economic Activity Office of the International Collaboration Department Andrii Shysholin, Assistant Rector Bohdan Duda, Deputy Director of the Center for International Education of Igor Sikorsky KPI Vitalii Ovechkin.

It was agreed to cooperate on increasing the number of Iraqi citizens who will study at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (since 1967, 154 students from Iraq have studied at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, 64 of them received diplomas).

The Embassy will assist in concluding agreements with 2-3 universities in Iraq, from which Iraqi citizens will be sent to study in the KPI.

Agreements on further contacts were also reached.
