UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office representatives visit Kyiv Polytechnic

A horizon of new opportunities arises at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Representatives of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office of the United Kingdom visited the University to discuss its potential involvement in the InnovateUkraine programme funded by the UK government through the £10 million ‘Innovate Ukraine’ Green Energy Challenge Fund. The programme aims to rebuild Ukraine’s energy system, displace fossil fuels, and support post-war recovery.

Evelyn Cavalla, Senior Programme Manager at the British Embassy, expressed her excitement about Kyiv Polytechnic’s role in fostering expertise and advancing knowledge across various sectors. She emphasized UK’s readiness to support innovations, particularly in energy resilience, both financially and technically. Ms. Cavalla added that they aim to connect Kyiv Polytechnic’s innovations with those from the UK and the business community to come up with new solutions.

This meeting marked the first stage of negotiations with the British partners. Kyiv Polytechnic’s representatives showcased their achievements, outlined proposals, and identified common areas for collaboration.

It is important to note that the first phase of the InnovateUkraine programme is well underway.
